Common Tests

Let me tell you about the best week of my life.

Yeah. Right. I don't think so.

Ok enough. Went out with Cheryl, Ruth, Annalyn, Xiang and suwan to chill after CTs in the attempt of a class outing. Haha, it was actually pretty fun. Had lots of laughs and stupid times (ie. waiting for Dong Bang). It was a quality chill out, cos I really hang and splurged. Though still feel guilty for my naiveness towards Ruth's allergy. Please forgive me. :(

It's so sad that Argentina is out. They play entertaining football. But no doubt Spain is the team with the most shuai players, although they shuai until v gay that kind of shuai.

Ok shut up I'm talking rubbish Very tired now shall watch superman another day shall sleep now.

World Cup!

Wooo! It pays to be in China. I get to watch EVERY MATCH LIVE! How cool is that? And there's an abundant amount of post and pre match analysis about the teams and all their stats. Plus, cool documentaries and up-to date articles. Its football heaven compared to my cable-less TV in Singapore, albeit all of them are in Chinese. Here are my petty thoughts about some matches that I watched.

1. England VS Paraguay (1-0)

Seriously. As a partial England fan, I'm thoroughly dissapointed. Gaining 3 points because of an own goal? Whatever happened to the might and ability of the 3 lions? I guess the forwards just can't deliver properly, given whatever chances.

Crouch just can’t seem to please the referee. Beckham proved himself worthy as the team captain. His pinpoint and insightful passing did create millions of chances. Joe Cole was weird that afternoon, not up to his usual standard. Lampard and Gerrard worked really well, offensively and defensively. The problem just lies with the forwards then, if you go with this way of reasoning. Looks like England still can’t really excel without Rooney. Getting dependent, are we?

2. Japan VS Australia (1-3)

I was rooting for Japan all the way. And I was disappointed yet again. Japan played the gentlemen football – passive in defense and midfield. It was a total tragedy. She was leading until the last 8 minutes when everything just went haywire. Japan just lost their footing in the chaos and let in 3 goals. How idiotic can you get! I was only impressed with Nakamura and Nakata’s performance. Moreover, that goal that Nakamura scored was like a fluke. No. 13 of Japan did a little screening of the Aussie Goalie and the ball went in like very accidentally. Obviously, a foul was made but the ref didn’t make a call. The Aussies also looked and played so much rougher than the Japs. I guess you need to be more offensive and aggressive these days. Kind of reminds me of class captain’s ball.

3. Korea VS Togo (2-1)

Togo was pretty good. I have to admit. They’re really fast when attacking, good in the air, just that their defense is a liability. They were pretty aggressive too. But not good enough. Whereas Korea played like a gentlemen, again, like Japan, in the first half. When they were aggressed against, they didn’t aggress bacl. It was only until the 2nd half when things began to pick up for them. Anh Jung Huan was on and Korea scored 2 pretty impressive goals. And that blondie on left field was funny! He’s really eye-catching and really fast. I kept lafing at how he stood out from everyone on the field cos he’s the only one without black hair.

But after they lead 2-1, they didn’t attack much anymore. Just passively passing the ball from defender to defender. There was this really frustrating bit where they got a free kick in a very good position and instead of making for goal, they passed it back to the defenders to waste more time. What lousy football! I know it’s a good tatic to prevent Togo from attacking and to prevent anymore fouls, injuries or cards on their side, but it’s just… rubbish! They’re sponsored by Nike sommore. Where’s the Joga Bonito eh
? Beautiful football has gone to the winds. Disguested.

And I couldn't access Wikipedia too!

have to blog have to blog HAVE TO BLOG

Yes, I hope you get my point. I desperately need to blog before another BIG event comes up in a few days and I will be busy blogging about that and forget all about the previous one.

But wait just a second.

Isn't it amazing how wonderful lyrics can just hit you and then make your world go round for the day? This one did it's magic for me.

"And now I'm all alone again,
Nowhere to turn, no one to go to.
Without a home, without a friend,
Without a face to say hello to.
And now the night is near,
Now I can make believe he's here.

Sometimes I walk alone at night
When everybody else is sleeping.
I think of him, and then I'm happy
With the company I'm keeping.
The city goes to bed,
And I can live inside my head.

On my own,
Pretending he's beside me.
All alone,
I walk with him till morning.
Without him,
I feel his arms around me,
And when I lose my way I close my eyes
And he has found me.

In the rain,
The pavement shines like silver.
All the lights
Are misty in the river.
In the darkness,
The trees are full of starlight,
And all I see is him and me for ever and forever.

And I know
It's only in my mind,
That I'm talking to myself
And not to him.
And although I know that he is blind,
Still I say,
There's a way for us.

I love him,
But when the night is over,
He is gone,
The river's just a river.
Without him,
The world around me changes.
The trees are bare and everywhere
The streets are full of strangers.

I love him,
But every day I'm learning,
All my life,
I've only been pretending!
Without me,
His world will go on turning,
A world that's full of happiness
That I have never known!

I love him...
I love him...
I love him...
But only on my own..."

-- On My Own (sung by the character Eponine), from Les Miserables soundtrack.

Eponine is this super poor girl in the streets of Paris, with the dysfunctional family and all that crap, in love with this dude called Marius. But Marius is madly in love with Cosette already, for dunno what crazy reason. So he dosen't really give a damn about Eponine. But she dosen't give up hope, and thinks about her love all day long, using it as a way of escape from her wretched life. Every night, she goes out to the streets of Paris and walks around alone, making believe that he is with her.

Very sad actually. Eponine is one of my favourite characters in the book. Yippee for her. But she dies in the end, by using herself as a wall between Marius and a bullet during the French Revolution. In short, saving his life, but getting hit by the bullet. And he dosen't even know anything about it.

Kinda reminds you how STUPID and IGNORANT men are right?

:)

Ok, back to main topic. Today, I want to blog about my Community Leader camp, how life has been at home with only Dad, and BAND!!

But wait. I'm ultra hungry. Shall go take dinner first. Will be back in a second.
