"Oh I wish I was a punk rocker, with flowers in my hair~~" Sandi Thom.

!??!?!

I knew I made a draft on Superhero love triangles the other day, and saved it cos I was interrupted halfway by Teen Titans. Can't seem to find it now. WHERE!?!?!

How come The Straits Times is getting more and more interesting to read? I barely have time now to spend on the Life! section. Was surprised today (or was it yesterday. yesterday.) when I read that article about NUS High School students. Apparently, some crazy math geniuses, who are still in Sec 3, have finished doing the A Level Mathematics exam questions, are embarking on University Math Curriculum, claiming they want to do Math their whole lives. Gasp.

Seriously, I will never ever be able to empathise with these people in that aspect of their lives. (Sorry Cheryl!) Ever since my interest in Maths (yes, I was once in love with Maths... and science, not bluffing) was killed off in P4 singlehandedly by a certain form teacher's humiliation, I never ever saw Maths the same way again. So, forgive me (or agree with me) when I say, MATHS SUCK. :)

Jazz is a good change once in a while, from all that rapping and meaningless lyrics and angst. It's romantic and makes you smile whenever you listen to it, because those stuff just don't happen much anymore in real life. Old movies are nice too. That kind of oh-so-innocent-feel-good-romance-with-unrealistic-plots-that-will-never-ever-happen-in-real-life movies. Seriously, it's worth it to watch it once in a while, to remind ourselves that perfect romances are so nice and cute, and how stupid and pure 1960s Hollywood movies were. But the acting there is seriously top-notch. Much better than the stand and pose kind of thing we have now. More theatre-risque.

Speaking of theatres, I WANNA WATCH CABARET!!!!!!!!! Which unfortunately ends today. :( Fei Xiang leh! And what are the odds of such a rauchy, sexy, rare musical showing in Singapore? Practically NONE!!! Argh. Can't believe I missed it. Missed many many stuff. Miss Saigon and Les Miserables came when I was P2, I remember, when I didn't know nuts about them. And now when I think they are the best things in the world, they REFUSE to come. Either I go to Broadway, or I won't ever see it ever. Don't care. I'm not going to miss Forbidden City this time.

MR THIHA YOU OWN ME TWENTY DOLLARS TICKET MONEY WHERE IS IT PAY UP NOW OR TREAT ME TO DINNER AND 2 MOVIES NOT WORTH IT I TELL YOU SO FASTER PAY UP.

There. Telegram done. :) I hope he gets my message.

Finished Freakonomics! Told Mom about the abortion-crime rate theory over dinner and she just gaped at me for 5 seconds. Then she exclaimed, "Are you sure a not??!?! Dosen't make sense to me. Did you make it up? " I'm sure I made it up la Mom. Quote Cheryl "o_O"

"When I fall in love, it will be forever. " -Nat King Cole. The most unrealistic thing I've heard, but nonetheless, it's good to dream. :)

Jazz

Someone tell me my posts STILL not concise enough. What an eventful day to squeeze in everything.

Dunno why I'm mad about Jazz music all of a sudden. I think one of the factors is SI. Hmmm. Still remember last year, near O levels period, I was mad about jazz too, but on a milder level. Nat King Cole, Sinatra, Buble, and some ballads/musical/opera type of songs like Groban, Brightman and so on and so forth. Haha, I remember listening and loving them in Mrs Soh's house, then never study. Then she will be reminding us to study, and offs the thing. Then Steff and Lynette and me will start singing L.O.V.E, haha then Mrs Sau will shhhhhhhhh us.

Haha, just came back from Interact install. Seriously, wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Daneil definined the mood with his speech and the rest went pretty ok. Few screws here and there though. Haha, Melody's pink umbrella and Desmond and Xiangjun's blurness was so cute and funny! And Dan's "AND SO ON AND SO FORTH". Box him! The MP's speech was like a million centuries long. It felt like she was advertising her school instead of making a speech about interact stuff. Riding a piggy back.

Wooo I lost my wallet AGAIN today. Left it one the table. Like the previous times, a classmate found it. However, unlike previous times, that classmate went home, thinking that I went home too. So I'm currently walletless for the weekend, which is unforturnately happnening. Trust me, it's really awful to be walletless. It's like living without water then must go to the well and get some. Leh che.

Today I made announcement with Chian Yeh about NBC. Then in the end, only a few friends realised that it was me up there talking. Is my voice so unregconizable? Or do I sound sooooooooo different in a mike? Apparently, that's Annalyn's reason for not realising. She says I sound more soothing in the mike. o_O .

No Need to Blog.

I realised that I don't really need to blog a lot these days. Cos other people will include the significant things in THEIR blogs, then I just have to go and read it. Moreover, their blogging style is so much nicer than mine.

For example, for class things, there's Annalyn and XiangYing to cover the more interesting and memorable bits. Band stuff (interesting ones) will be done sophisticatedly on Hanxin's blog, or not so glamly on someone else's. Yesterday's pool session and crooked conversations about crooked thingys with Sihui my part-time stead and Wenhui is all in Sihui's blog. I only need to add on a bit.

Like how the word EVERYONE is redefined yesterday, to become every living human in the world except for me. Example, like when Sihui said "Everyone knew about it what!" I would always reply "No. I didn't" It happened a million times yesterday, and I concluded that everytime my friends talk about EVERYONE, it would be everyone excluding me. How fun. For 2 years, I've been missing everything out when it's all happening right under my nose, or sitting just beside me. Makes you feel on top of the world.

But my CCA quote makes sense what. No meh?

Oks backs to bloggings. Seriously, I don't need to blog anything anymore, except maybe something crazy happened in my family, like my brother's current yoyo craze, or my mom's sheng jing bingness, and my dad's gayness. It's a wonder how I came to be so normal. .... Right?

Haha, Yanyun's blog is sheer entertainment. Spent almost an hour in the library laughing madly but silently with Jiayan and Cheryl while reading her blog. That's the second time it happened! Seriously, the things that happen to her and her friends are just soooooooo hilarious. I miss my seniors and the sheng jing bing times in NY band! When Yanru and Co. would do imitations, use silly accents, run around like headless chickens and just basically talk about normal stuff that becomes comedy when it comes our of their mouths. When Yanyun and Sharon humour people sardonically and sarcastically, slapping people on the backs when they can't sit straight, and dance to the beat while counting bars (cannot laugh sommore. later chong scold). Basically what is happening in HC band now.

Senoirs, if you're reading this (part of me hopes you aren't cos I've described you quite unglamly), must know that I miss you guys a lot. First time in my life when I really feel like turning back time. I loved band because of you guys. Juniors too! They're so cute and childish that makes my want to cry and laugh at the same time. My band is made of of both groups of people. Come to think of it, it has always been the people that made me go for band pracs, and not the music.

Oh well. Now I have a cute conductor! Mr. Takehiro Oura. Quote Rapunzel "I think your conductor takes aerobic classes leh. He shakes his butt in time wih the music! So cute!"

Of course. He's my conductor. :)

Concise-tion

Someone just told me to have entries that are more concise. Hmmmm.

Haven't touched my blog for sooooooooooooooooooooo long.

NBC just ended last Saturday, with RJCSB getting second place, losing out to TJ band by 3 points. Quite a difference considering how close Mus'art were to us. But then again, Mus'art was judged with 1st division so there may be marginal affecting factors there.

Everything was quite messy before the competition. Getting to the verese vv late (due to both RI gates closed, we had to use RJ gate), Jiaying's bad mood (which is scary and unsettling), didn't have enough time to tune as a band (unlike TJ), whistling of TJ guys, and nervousness before going on stage (of the band playing too loudly, which kind of caused our previous demise to TJ). The playing itself was all right. Better than A Tempo, but we can do better. From the recording, Stars and Stripes sounded pretty good, without overplaying and not much intonation. Just a nice peice that we rushed in. Machhu Picchu was not as loud as normal (thank God), but intonation sucked. And there were tempo problems, and the percussion and clarinets had some minor screw-ups. In all, it didn't sound as good as I thought it would. Probably the low quality of the recording.

So as the second placed band, we get to play this Sunday again! Yippee. Another late night home and a lethargic Monday.

They haven't made the announcement about our NBC yet. It's a competition leh, and people worked hard for it you know. No different from sports competitions actually. What's the discrimination between performing arts competition and sports competition? It's a good way to boost band morale (although second is nothing much to be proud of) and increases awareness of the band. Did you know that some people didn't even know there's a band in RJ? GG.

Found Jianwei's blog, which led me to other band members' blogs. Hanxin's blog sounds and looks posh. Woohoo.

Had the most embarrasing incident in my RJ life ever. It was concerning a certain honeydew, Yang Guo and Xiao Long Nu, loose grip, a group of petrified guys, difference between swords and dao1s, Annalyn and Ruth. Get the picture already? Go figure.

Other than that. My life is as mundane as ever. Haven't officially started revision for Promos yet, and there's like 60 days left only. I WILL NOT GET PWNED BY SCHOOL EXAMS EVER AGAIN.

Ok. Mommie is scolding me for shouting to myself. oUch.

DEVASTATED

Don't get me wrong. I support Italy, and want them to win. But Les Blues played so nicely yesterday that I almost changed my mind. Haha, actually, it was France=Zidane yesterday but he was brilliant. You can see he's fighting for his life out there, and he was amazing. Zizou was back!

But it was only until extra-time when it all turned ugly. He was provoked! He was pushed and cursed at! Obviously something offensive was said at him and then that head-butt came. Sure he should have controlled himself, but that Italian's had an element of diving in it. And he provoked Zidane. Just like Ronaldo.

Poor Zizou. Hero to zero just like that, in one instant. It was his last match with France and it had to end in tears. And penalty shots is just such a horrible way of determining the best football team in the world. It is just not a right way of justifying the quality of a team.

Ah~~ enough about World Cup. It's making me sad. Hate to see men cry like that. Makes me wanna cry. :(

It's really weird now that my hair is long enough to be tied. It feels quite good tying it. But I really look awul in it though. Weirdy.

Oh for those Christiano Ronaldo haters out there, here's to you. www.ihateronaldo.com

And here's something funny from Sabam too. Check it out.

WHOA OM.

Cts sucks. Goodbye H3.

Ahhhhh so tired. Just came back from tuition. Declaration: I hate vocabulary. SAT has a whole load of them sommore. Someone just shoot me.

Declaration number 2: I fell in love with band again! Wooo! I got back my boyfriend! :) Finally, that feeling is back now. I guess with decent *ahem* non-sardonic sectionals, a really nice song, a renewed interest in music, friends, some pressure from responsibility, it's possible to get back that bandy feeling again.

I LOVE MACHU PICCHU!!! :) City in the sky! Clouds at your feet! Magnifecent sun temples! Really evil Spaniards! Great plot, adverse emotions, cool villains, all make an amazing band song. MACHU PICCHU!!!

But I haven't got the MTV in mind yet. Must listen soommore and imagine sommore. Exciting. Go RJCSB, win back the honour from *JC (aiya quite obvious la)! Jiayou for NBC!!! 8 more days!

Actually I think the solution to all those problems mentioned yesterday is just passion. Hmmm.

Ok publication time. There's this National Band Compeition on 16th July, VCH, and RJC is competing in the open division, which has, I think, no age limit, so it will feature really professional bands. Open division compeitition will start at six or seven, at ten dollars if you order through the competing schools, and fifteen if you order from NBC. For band people, it's really a great chance to listen to quality band music and get inspired to practice more. :) For non-band people, it's going to be a really good "concert" where you don't have bands getting tired and producing crap music. Hence, GO AND SUPPORT YOUR FRIENDS!!! Or just go and listen to great music. Participatin bands in open division are TJC, RJC, Ngee Ann Poly, Shuqun Sec band plus their alumni, and other bands I forgot.

Whoppee. Band was fun today. And pretty productive I think. Horn's improved! Whooppeee! :)

Ahaha my Cts suck. Best subject is still Econs. It's really funny that my class has extraordinary results for Econs. We're way above the average and has quite a few people getting very high. My marks are like average liao la. It's really weird come to think of it. But my class is the H3 econs class, so no surprise there. :/

Haiz, I think my hopes of taking H3 are dashed. Must get B for that subject I'm going to take H3 in and pass everything else. Ugh. Quite impossible to do, considering the time I was given to study. Ok, ok I know, it's an excuse. But what else to make other than excuses now? But I think it's quite unfair that some RP person who failed Econs can still take Econs just beacuse he got more than 2.8 GPA last year, and someone who in not RP, but got a C and loves Econs cannot take Econs. If you want to set a benchmark, then set one for everyone. This is absolutely not giving everyone equal grounds and opportunities.

Listening to Persis now. Oh all the memories coming back. Miss NYCB. :(

Oh dear, I still have to enter my minutes before I sleep. Quite madness huh, getting the same post AGAIN. Now I can proudly say that I am a band secretary for straight 4 years (provided I don't get kicked out of RJ or get retained la). Really weird why I got the post, I mean, I ran for PO and then suddenly this post I don't even know existed pops up! Woo. Talk about phenomenons. Kinda sick of the post actually. Same responsibilities, same minutes to take, same attendance, same bimbotic job. But actually, after you're together with the job for a period of time, you will start to like it. It happened before, no reason for it to not happen this time. Plus, I can use my old secretary book to take minutes! But I need to buy a new attendance book though. Oh well. I guess I'm just a fated secretary. :/ But there's already a light in it, so hang in there! :)

I'm worried about Interact 60 hours thingy. :( Very hard to achieve that timing. Plus, I have NYAA! UGH.

Oh but cheer up. Going out with Shizhen, Aud and YX on Tue! Farewell for Shizhen, who is going to University of Dennison, Ohio to study this September and CONVENIENTLY FORGOT TO TELL ME. Me: Hey YX, did you know Shizhen going US to study this yr? YX: Yeah, I knew since last year. She never tell you meh? ........................JIA SHIZHEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ah why all my frens flying away... Queen is going to Monash, and Shizhen's going to Dennison. Hard to just call and go out shopping leh. :( And they get all the ang-moh cute guys, while I'm stuck with......nevermind. It's not that bad actually. OK NEVER MIND.

RAWR SO TIRED. Haven't really sat down to study properly for long periods of times this week. Promos are coming!!! :( I've dieded.

Last words: GO AZZURRIS!!! And Les Blues, please don't cry k? :)

PS: There's this product called the "Ronaldo baby". Squeeze it and it'll cry out real tears for you. With real life brawling effects. And it dives too, when no one touches it. Great product!

Finally made sense of my thoughts of the craziest discussion my GP group had yesterday. And what a group it was. Jiayan and Shermon are already a combustable combination, add in the formidable Xiang, smiling Jannah, and me, and you get a really really exciting, controversial, albeit circular motioned discusion. Now I really look forward to Gp groupwork.

Acceptance is a wonderful thing. It always seems to be the bestest and rightest way out, but is it always the correct path to choose? I've always preferred acceptance to .. erm.. other things, but everytime I do that, I think of Yihan, and everytime I think of Yihan, I get second thoughts about acceptance. She's always challenging my acceptance, and now, she made me challenge my own acceptance. And I'm glad to say that... I'm quite lost.

The Friday change to Wednesday thingy is really getting into me. On Tuesday, when I first got back to school, I heard Darren Lai say this to Han. "......But this Wednesday is running Friday's timetable, which means Wednesday is Friday and Friday is Wednesday." Ok, fine. Then I saw Hanxin's mail about comm meeting on Fri. Stupidly, I went to think it was on Wednesday and told her I can't really make it. Then it turned out that comm meeting was on Friday. As in the REAL Friday. Not today Friday. What a mess. I need to straighten everything out. Biological clock is not ticking my way now. It's really hard to break your routine of 3 months and adapt to a new one for one month and break it off again without losing strings of thoughts and interrupting activities.

And I haven't got the attendance book yet! Everything is in a mess. PW is a train that just got on track, although it's lugging excess baggage along, and now it ran itself off the track, still lugging excess baggage. My subjects are in a mess, and horrors of horrors, there's only ten weeks left for Promos where I hope to redeem myself.

And I really really really hope that I can take H3 Econs, which means I have to get a B for Econs, and pass everything else. It really sux, that because of some marginal things that I've didn't do, that got me into so much trouble. It's not just this year. Started since last year Os period. If only, if only, if only.... But it's the fact that it's marginal that got me upset. They make the if onlies much much heavier and depressing.

Stop. I have just succesfully negatively motivated myself to get into my studing mode. So let's ride that mode while it lasts and see if anything constructive can result from it.

Superman!

I just watched Superman with my brother, Shizhen and her friend, somehow. Anyway, it was a really cool movie, quite exciting, and worth your ticket money. Superman is soooo cool! HE CAN FLY!!! And he's such a cute and nice boyfriend to take Lois flying! So sweet! I wanna fly too! :)

Oh and he is so handsome! I love his blue eyes. And his cape makes cool flapping sounds when he flies. And he's strong, to carry you around. And he's cyclops too, with his laser beams. And he's fast so he will never be late for dates, and you don't need a car anymore. And he has really good hearing so he won't miss out a word you say. And he can be the bestest horn player ever with his blowing. He has unlimited powerful air! OH! And he's made of steel. ........So you can use him to make pots!

In short, Superman is the bestest boyfriend ever! :)

I think the world needs a superman now. There's just so much stuff around, with terrorism, bombings, increasing natural disasters, increasing crime rates and riots, etc. We all need Superman's powers to stop these universal threats from happening! For example, he can just carry so many people away at the speed of light from the tsunami, saving many many lives, he can "predict" natural disasters from happening, he can stop terrorists from bombing people up by beating them to a pulp, and he can stop bomb attacks with his x-ray vision, etc etc.

So, yes, the world needs Superman!

Or, supermen. I think everyone should have their own personal superman, who saves them from disasters, solve problems, and brings them out to fly occasionally and make them really happy. So everybody, lets all get up now and look for your own superman, or start being a superman for someone special.

I want my superman! :)

Irony

Americans are starting to pump in old-fashioned examinations into their formless "advanced modern" education system that has been the reason for the bloom of creativity and thinking out of the boxes, and Asians are beginning to over emphasise on project work, creativity, freedom of expression, in order to turn their little academic robots into exceptional thinkers.

Hmmm.

The world is filled with so much irony that everything is going round in circles.

Once something has advanced so much ahead of everybody, until almost the limit, it finds itself going back and examining it's roots and beginnings in order to provide an answer for the happenings due to it's advancement. Or sometimes, to look for inspirations and innovations to further improve itself.

It's like the world is getting so developed. Technology is advancing at superman speed, economies are blooming, or at least finding new ways of blooming, and suddenly in the midst of all these confusion, we asks ourselves: Wait. Why are we developing in the first place? Is it really neccesary? Why do we need to get developed? There we go. We have returned to the fundamentals of developement after such a long ride trying to get away from it. I'm telling you, we're riding in circles.

I guess the concept circles (buddhism) has always made sense to me. (yikes.) Everything is working in circular motion that it's really amazing where this almighty commanding centripetal force comes from. Where is the centre of this huge roundabout? Who dictates this circular motion?

Ok let's move on.

Last night, England was cheatened and decisioned. Not beaten. They performed really well. I think Beckham's injury was a blessing in disguise, as their game became more varied and unexpected with Lenon. Seriously, that little guy is just so good at running and beating defenders. He really brings about the fast pace and diversity often missing in the English right flank. Did you notice how England's playing improved after Beckham went off?

Rooney's red card was too much. It should have been yellow. Ok, maybe it wasn't the best time to step on other people's balls but it was to a certain extent an accident. And his Manchester United team mate Christiano had to come and stir the mess by confonting him. Smart but a very dirty move, playing on Rooney's temper. But of course it paid off and the hot-blooded Englishman got sent off for a mixture of dissent and foul. Rooney has got to watch his temper. It hasn't improved one bit since his yelling of expletives at Beckham and I have a feeling it isn't going to in the near future. His passion to do well is truly a double-edged sword. It brought him lots of goals, and lot of cards.

But even with 10-man down, the match didn't look like 11 vs 10. Terry and Ferdinand were defending like hawks back there and it paid off. Portugal didn't really have a focal point for their attack and were reduced to shooting from far. Hagreaves was a hero. He ran like crazy and seemed to be everywhere in the defence. He nullified Luis Figo, and made Ronaldo scream. ........ That sounded wrong. Anyway, the english defence were impressive, but not perfect.

Midfeilld wise, Gerrard was a really good playmaker after Beckham left. With him and Lennon, there are just so much more possibilities of where the ball would go. His passes were insightful. Too bad there was no Rooney. If not, England should have scored one already. Lampard, as usual, got people screaming in agony. Throughout the whole tournament, he has 24 attempts on goal, and none of them went in. He missed so many good chances. So many! With every match, he has got the most chances, the best position, and there he goes and wastes all of them. Crouch too, didn't deliver. And where's Walcott?

But even with these, England was controlling the pace and momentum of the match most of the times, frustrating the portugese. The portugese was well-matching and well-matched too. They had great chances and Ronaldo had to squander a lot of them (ahahaha). Still, England dominated and would and should have won. Clearly, they were the stronger team most of the time, so going by this logic, they deserve the win more than portugal.

STUPID PENALTIES!

But I guess that's soccer. The world's favourite sport. That's what makes soccer so enjoyable and fun. So excrutinating and exhilarating. Heartbreaks and joculance all at the same time. So unpredictable. A comedy could just turn into tragedy in the space of no less than one minute. A toast to you, Soccer, for you have just made me miserable.

And Christiano Ronaldo is such an irritating character. Ok, wait a moment before you all C. Ronaldo fans start to throw rotten stuff at me. Let me first advocate him by saying that he is a great player. I love his effervescent runs down the right lane, his pace and speed are remarkable and he is really handsome (in the gay kind of way. I thought he was gay the first time I saw him). But he is such a hissy and a girl that I really feel like kicking his balls. Oh wait. I think he dosen't have any!

I lost count of how many times he dived last night. Everytime he touches a defender and acheives contact, he crashes himself to the floor, cluctches at his leg in general, or his head or whatever, scrunches up his face and starts to brawl like a baby, loudly and uglyly, until the referee comes over and shows that he is not impressed with his performance.

He should be awarded an Oscar for his perfomance last night. Best brawler/complainer/acting as if in pain -- in short BEST HUSSY!!!

I've never seen another player who made me so irritated. It may sound unfair but it just makes me mad when I see his scrunched up face (sorry, cound'nt find another expression. This is the best one) and his brawling. Bobby McMahon was gamecasting the match on Fox and here I quote him. "I think I just heard Ronaldo scream from Los Angeles." I mean, can't he just be a man and get up after he falls and get into the game? It's such a babyish girl thingy to lie there and crying, desperate for attention so that he can ween the most out of that opportunity. Oh get a grip mister. Did you see how he was first to peck at the action when the Rooney incident appeared? He dived into the thick of the mess and confronted Rooney -- his Man U team mate -- as quick as he can, to get Rooney worked up. After completing his mission of making ROoney lose his temper, he walked away and winked at the Portugese bench with a smile on his face. What a dirty dirty tactic that was. Ok it definitely works, but no need to give that smirk and wink. Hellooooo, you were caught doing it last night on global television. Do the right thing and grow up! Be a man! PLAY JOGA BONITO, you nike player.

Ok. I know it's kind of obvious I'm a C. Ronaldo hater. I used to love him a lot in Man U. But after his conversion to become a hussy, I have totally hated him. What madness, I just remembered that Italy has a whole team of C. Ronaldos! Ok stop. This will go on forever. There, I've declared my ever lasting hate for hussies. So, sue me.
